This is a slow moving piece, lonely drawn out strings sigh during a thunderstorm in a city at night. The music itself is greatly enhanced by the dismal setting of a thunderstorm in the middle of a city as sirens and alarms can be heard passing by and in the distance. The background ambience uses two slightly re-arranged open source samples from the free sound project (http://freesound.iua.upf.edu/). These superb recordings capture the brooding essence of a thunderstorm and a night time city that never sleeps. I could think of nothing better to accompany a lonely violin section.
